A Kano based businessman and current affairs commentator, Alhaji Usman Dangwari has called on the federal government to make available palliatives that can enable the citizens to remain at home during the proposed second lockdown.
He made the call in an interview with our correspondent in Kano, adding that what happened during the first lockdown where most of the deaths were as a result of hardship, lack of enough food and medication and congestion especially in the cities where millions of households reside.
Alhaji Dangwari said that, “we don’t want such things to happen, the federal, states and local government councils should ensure that all necessary arrangements are done before the said lockdown if the government is really working for the total control of the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic into the states targeted to close down”.
The commentator gave an example on how the first lockdown affected the nation’s economy, and the second lockdown is now warming up to affect this year’s food production because the 2020 tainy season farming has commenced after excellent downpour which is another great setback to the Buhari’s policy on food security in Nigeria.
In conclusion, Alhaji Usman Dangwari cautioned the general public against violating the rules and regulations that are recommended in the fight against the COVID-19 in Kano and the nation at large in order to ensure the success of the killer disease spread control across the country.
