Over nine billion Naira was paid to 11,603 beneficiaries of the N-power programme of the federal government as monthly allowances in Jigawa State, the State Social Investment Programme (SSIP), Coordinator, Malam Bala Usman Chamo has said.
He made this known in Dutse while speaking to newsmen.
He said 3,157 N-power beneficiaries were recruited in the first batch while 8,846 were recruited in the second batch totaling 11,603.
Malam Bala Usman Chamo said the first batch will wind up this month while the second batch beneficiaries will end their assignment next month.
He said the programme was owing about 200 beneficiaries allowances which will be paid before they disengage.
The coordinator stated that it is expected that about four hundred thousand new N-power beneficiaries will be recruited under the third batch throughout the country and called on unemployed youth in the state to register for the programme.
