12-yr Old Boy Shot While Testing Bullet Repellant Charm In Ibadan

A palm wine tapper and his friend are now in police net in Ibadan over the shooting of a 12-year old son of the palmwine tapper while testing a bullet repellant charm.

New Nigerian learnt that the palmwine tapper, identified as Daniel Qudus on Tuesday reportedly asked his friend,  Akinyemi Akinlolu, to shoot the 12-year-old boy to ascertain the efficacy of a newly acquired charm (bullet repellant) at Aba-Oyo along Idi-igba road, Olorunda in Lagelu local government area of Oyo State.

Trouble started when Akinyemi while trying to test the charm reportedly shot the 12year old boy identified as Vezan Qudus in the chest and in one of his hands, leaving the boy in blood.

Vezan was immediately rushed to the University College  Hospital (UCH), Ibadan for treatment he sustained from the  danegun shot  in the chest and hand on the instruction of his own father.

Oyo State Police Public Relations officer (PPRO), SP  Olugbenga Fadeyi, while  confirming  the incident,  said the suspects have been arrested.

“It was a case of attempted murder against one Venzan Qudus, a 12-year- old boy, who was shot with a Dane gun at his chest and hand by one 44 years old Akinyemi Akinlolu,  on the instruction and in the presence of his own father, one Daniel Qudus”, he said.

The PPRO added “It occurred at Aba-Oyo Olorunda area of Olorunda while testing the efficacy of a newly acquired bullet repellant charm. Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the case. Victim  has been transferred to UCH for treatment.”
