Nigeria’s COVID-19 Tally Surpasses 20,000 As 436 New Cases Are Recorded

Eighteen States of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja were infected with 436 new cases of Novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Sunday, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported yesterday.

The list of affected places showed Lagos having 169, Oyo 52, Plateau 31, Imo 29, Kaduna 28, Ogun 23, FCT 18, Enugu 18, Bauchi 17, Bayelsa 14, Rivers 8, Osun 6, Kano 6, Edo 5, Benue 5, Adamawa 3, Borno 2,Abia 1 and Ekiti 1.

NCDC’s twitter account disclosed that since the index case of the COVID-19 pandemic was reported in Nigeria, the country has had a total of 20,244 confirmed cases of the worldwide pestilence as of 11.33 p.m. on Sunday, 21st June 2020.

According to the Nigerian disease control agency, of the total number, 6,879 cases has been discharged from isolation centres, and 518 died.
