Nigeria’s COVID-19 Tally Surpasses 18,000, With Record 745 New Cases

Twenty states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja were affected by 745 new cases of Novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) recorded in Nigeria on Thursday.

A list, released by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC),    containing the numerical hierarchy of infection among the affected areas is as follows: Lagos 280, Oyo 103, Ebonyi 72, Abuja 60, Imo 46, Edo 34, Delta 33, Rivers 25, Kaduna 23, Ondo 16, Katsina 12, Kano 10, Bauchi 8, Borno 7, Kwara 5, Gombe 4, Sokoto 2, Enugu 2, Yobe 1, Osun 1 and Nasarawa 1.

The national disease control agency reported on Twitter on Thursday that as of 11.43 p.m. on Thursday, 18th June 2020 Nigeria had a total of18,480 confirmed cases of COVID-19 pandemic.

According to NCDC, out of the total, 6,307 cases were discharged from isolation centres, while 475 persons were killed by the worldwide pestilence.
