Flour Mills of Nigeria PLC has donated essential medical materials including; oxylators, facemasks, disposable gloves, protective garments, face covers and thousands of test kits, to support in stemming the continued rise of COVID-19 cases in Ogun State.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the State government in her office, the Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, appreciated the organisation for the support, saying the donated materials would be of good use, particularly for the health professionals, as well as help to control the spread of the disease.
The Deputy Governor noted that the State government was not relenting in its efforts of providing best care possible, alongside relief materials for the people, especially during the lockdown.
“A lot of your products were used extensively during the distribution of relief materials in this State. We procured some, some were donated to us by well-meaning individuals, corporate organisations and also by flour mills itself. I wish you all the best as you continue to support the fight against Covid-19 by ensuring our people do not go hungry”, she said.
While appreciating the company’s role at ensuring food security across the country, especially at this difficult time, Engr. Salako-Oyedele said it was a great call on them in meeting the unprecedented food demand that has been placed on the food sector due to the pandemic.
In his remarks, the Group Human Resource Director, Flour Mills of Nigeria PLC, Mr. Wale Adeniran, pledged the company’s continued support towards the development of the State, as well as curbing the spread of the disease in the State and country at large.
Adeniran commended the state government’s efforts at flattening the curve of the pandemic, informing that the donation of the essential medical materials and personal protective equipment was a fall out of their desire to ensure that the pandemic was conquered in its totality.
