Crime: Adamawa Police Arrests 69 Criminals

In its efforts to rid the state of crime, the Adamawa State police command  has arrested 69 suspected criminals made up of kidnappers, armed robbers and shilla cult boys

The state commissioner of police, Olugbenga Adeyanju who paraded the suspects at the command’s headquarters on Monday in Yola said, the command has also recovered AK47 rifles, ammunition and other fabricated firearms from the suspects.

According to the CP, “Following credible information, the command in collaboration with vigilante/hunters stormed Yadim Hills, the hotbed of kidnappers, on May 29, 2020 and apprehended seven suspects, recovered three AK47 rifles.

“Also recovered were one Dane-gun, one locally made pistol and two motorcycles.”

He further said that investigation led to the arrest of another syndicate that kidnapped one Sule Haro, Solomi Ishaya and killed her husband, Pastor Ishaya at Mararaban Bokki under Gombi LGA in April 2020.

“The group further confessed to have kidnapped Dodde Zumo and Ya’u Mohammadu both residents of Zumo under Maiha LGA and collected N1m ransom in March 2020 before they were apprehended, ” he said.

Among those paraded were 18 persons arrested in connection with the communal clash that claimed about 48 lives in Tingno under Lamurde Local Government Area two weeks ago.
