Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has observed that with the demise of former Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr. Maikanti Kachallah Baru, Nigeria and Bauchi State have lost one of their illustrious sons.
Making the observation in Bauchi weekend, the governor noted that late Maikanti Baru has immensely contributed to the growth and development of Nigeria, especially in the oil sector.
He told journalists that the late NNPC chief has done so many social and corporate responsibility projects both in his hometown of Misau and other parts of the state.
“I know some of these projects he has undertaken which include water provision facilities, E- libraries and Mosques”, the governor pointed out.
Senator Bala Mohammed expressed his deep sorrow over the demise of the former NNPC chief whom, he described, as a close friend, and prayed for the repose of the soul of the decease.
