First Anniversary: Group Commends Governor Matawalle Of Zamfara



A group, Patriots For The  Advancement Of Peace  And Development has lauded Zamfara state governor, Dr Bello Mohammed Matawalle for ensuring restoration of security and peace in just one year in office.

Speaking to journalists in Gusau, the Zamfara state capital, the group’s Executive Director, Alhaji Abdullahi Sani Shinkafi said the security situation in Zamfara State when Matawalle assumed office on 29th May, 2019 was so bad that people felt unsafe in the state.
Shinkafi who is a former National Secretary of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and the party’s 2019 governorship candidate in Zamfara state said governor Matawalle met a very terrible security situation in the state and without any waste of time, he started confronting the menace with great valour using his versatile experience as former Chairman House Committee on Security and  Intelligence for four years.

“Within short time, governor Matawalle was able to restore peace to the state. The deadly attacks have reduced to barest minimum and many of the kidnapped persons were released by their captors,” he said.
He also commended Matawalle for other strides in education, health, agricultural and infrastructural development 
Shinkafi said the sponsoring foreign Scholarship for 200 students for undergraduate studies in Engineering, Medical Courses etc in India, Cyprus, Sudan is an achievement that will bring development to the state.
Shinkafi called on the people of the state to put political sentiments aside and work for a progressive Zamfara State.
“Under Zamfara Social Investment Programme (ZSIP) empowerment Programme, 6600 youth were recruited and N10000 stipends are being paid monthly while under the Women Empowerment programme, with just six months into the programme 11,800 women benefitted each getting N20000 and another 5000 during Ramadan,” he said.
