Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has said that the Damaturu International Cargo Airport is ready and test landing will begin on 29th of this month.
The Governor stated this on Monday while receiving the Chief of Air Staff, Sadiq Abubakar who was in Damaturu to inspect the newly established helipad.
Governor Mai Mala Buni commended President Muhammadu Buhari, the Service Chiefs, officers and men of the Nigerian Armed Forces for the new zeal in the fight against terrorism in the state.
The Governor said there was a general improvement in the relative security recorded across the state.
” We have just celebrated the Sallah without any breach to security unlike what was obtained in the past,” he said.
He expressed the commitment of his administration towards providing the necessary support for the entrenchment of a sustainable peace and security across the state.
The Chief of Air Staff, Sadiq Abubakar, said the helipad will improve logistics support to the fight against insurgency in the state.
He commended Yobe State Government for the support and working synergy with the security agencies in the fight against terrorism.
Air Marshall Sadiq Abubakar assured that the Air Force remains committed towards ending terrorism in Nigeria.
