Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano has ordered a mandatory 14 days self Isolation for all public servants returning from outside the state.

The measure is part of the state government’s continued effort to stem the spread of Coronavirus in the state.

The directive was contained in a press release signed by the State Head of Service, Barrister Harry Udu and made available to journalists in Awka.

He insisted that wearing of face masks was the only criteria for accessing any office in the state, describing it as the one major means of curtailing the spread of the disease.

The release partly read, “All Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Department of Ministry, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) are to ensure full compliance with foregoing directives by the state government.

“Civil servants are expected to make proper usage of the face masks. Face mask is meant for the nose and mouth not for the jaw, pocket or purse, as now seems to be the vogue among Public Servants”.
