FG Warned Against Handing Over COVID-19 Fight To States



The Federal Government has been urged not to own up fight against COVID-19 as it plans to hand over to state governments. 

The call was made by the zonal manager of Copy Rights Commission (CRC), Malam Hassan Usman while speaking to the New Nigerian Newspapers on Friday in Kaduna through phone call. 

According to him, handing it over to the state governments will spell doom on the nation,  as different state government has been giving different directives that is different from the federal government. 

“We are all witness to what happened in different states, of particular note is that of the Kano state, there is no cohesion among states this could jeopardize the efforts of the federal government, we need to guide against it”, Hassan said.

 He said though the federal government have done a lot and spent huge sum of money as a responsive and responsible government who has the love of her people at heart, and for this not to be rubbish, it must continue with what it’s doing. 

The zonal manager opined that the Federal government should make it mandatory for state governments to operate in uniformity all directives from the federal ministry of health and NCDC to collectively achieved the set goals of overcoming the pandemic. 

He called on state governments to put their house in order so as to collectively fight and win the Covid 19 pandemic, this, according to him, will allow the three ties of government to reshape the bathered economy. 

Malam Hassan then called on Nigerians to support the federal government efforts in the fight against the pandemic, saying that the fight could only be won with the collaboration of all citizenry.
