*Sirawoo assures members nationwide of food items support
*Engineer Nimrod blazes trail in support

Registered members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kaduna State chapter were in high spirits on Friday as palliatives in food items were presented to them.
The distribution which was held at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna, where the association’s office is located, attracted no fewer than 28 members who were pencilled down by the Comrade Isaiah Kemje Benjamin-led executives.
The Palliatives were donated to the chapter by Kaduna SWAN Patron, Engineer Musa Nimrod, supported by SWAN President, Honour Sirawoo.
In his message to members across the country, Sirawoo assured that plans are in top gear to cushion the effects of COVID-19 on sporting activities nationwide, which has affected his members.
He urged them to stay safe and healthy while doing their job.
“Our members are our assets. While making plans to reach out to them nationwide with palliatives, we appeal to them to stay safe, ensure Social distancing, good respiratory hygiene and constant washing of hands under running water, or use of sanitisers appropriately,” he said.
SWAN President also advised his members to avoid touching their eyes, nose and mouth with hands.
He commended Engineer Nimrod for rising up to the occasion in supporting Kaduna members with palliatives, praying for God to continue to bless him.
On his remarks at the presentation, North West Secretary SWAN, Alhaji Abdulraheem Aodu commended Nimrod and Sirawoo for the gesture, while calling on others to emulate same.
Also speaking, Kaduna SWAN Chairman, Comrade Kemje told members that this was the first batch of distribution.
“We are tremendously grateful to our able Patron, Engineer Nimrod and outstanding President, Honour Sirawoo for putting smiles on the faces of our members,” he said.
Items distrbuted included 10kg bag of rice, vegetable oil, semovita and spaghetti to each member.
Some staff of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, also benefited from the gesture.
