The management of former Nigeria league champions, Rangers International F.C, under the leadership of Prince Davidson Owumi, has declared that the family members left behind by their late attacking sensation, Ifeanyi George, will get the insurance compensation due the player as soon as the lock-down necessitated by Covid-19 pandemic is lifted.

Owumi, in a phone chat with NNsports said that the insurance company, Premier Brokers Limited, has paid the insurance premium claims on the death of Ifeanyi George, who died in a ghastly auto-crash along Asaba-Benin express road on his way to Lagos to be with his family members after the club announced a break after NFF called for a shot down of all football activities in March, 2020.

“Despite the fact that we still mourn the sudden death of Ifeanyi George, our former attacker, we are glad to announce that the club is in possession of the Insurance premium due for the immediate family of the late footballer which will be presented as soon as the lock-down in almost all the states of the federation is relaxed,” stated the former NPL boss.

The astute football administrator further said, “We are hoping that the man who made this possible, H.E, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the executive governor of Enugu state will be available to make the presentation on the chosen date as a show of respect for another first from him. Remember he also approved and commissioned the first club owned gymnasium in the country.”

Recall that Enugu state government under the administration of H.E, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, wasted no time in approving the group personal accident insurance policy for players and officials of the club for in and out of field play accidents as soon as the current management made the proposal available to his desk.

In another development, the management of Rangers International F.C have opened a condolence register at its corporate office, Abakaliki Road, G.R.A, Enugu in respect of the late former NFF executive board member, NNL chairman and Enugu Football Association boss, Hon. Chidi Ofo Okenwa who departed this world on Tuesday, May 5, 2020.G.M/CEO of Rangers, Prince Davidson Owumi, made this known as he led the management team to condole with the wife of the late football technocrat stressing, “The late football administrator, Chidi Ofo Okenwa left us when he was needed most.
