The Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) Commander-General, Navy Captain A. B. Umar Bakori (rtd) has canvased support for the federal government’s directive to all private and voluntary security organisations to wear name tags in their uniform in order to ensure credibiloy in assisting the security agencies towards the promotion of peace in Nigeria.
He pledged his organisation’s support on the directive in a chat with New Nigerian, adding that it is important for all private and voluntary security organisations to wear name tags on their uniforms because in most cases, fake uniform men usually commit offences in the name of organisations, which must be checked in this respect.
Commander Bakori disclosed that gradually, all fake uniform men would be exposed in order to ensure that all private and voluntary security organisations are clean and eligible to assist in the promotion of peace unity and protection of lives and property of the general public across the country.
Commenting on the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, the Commander-General assured that his leadership would work deligiently with the name tag directive and the organisation would become more respected to ensure that the members of the group are working with one voice as a voluntary security organisation that was founded to assist in maintaining the security of lives and property at all levels.
