Personnel of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC) in Mushin, Kosofe Local Government Council Areas, Agboyi – Ketu and Odiolowo/ Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area were shocked when the Chairman of Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Agency, DIG Israel Ajao (rtd) paid an unscheduled visit to the commands to assess the performance of the operatives on COVID-19 special duty during the week.
He commended the Officers and other ranks for their hardwork,dedication and commitment to duty during the COVID-19 lockdown.
Though un-notified, the operatives were at their duty posts, complimenting the efforts of the police in ensuring the protection of lives and property in the state.
In a statement made available to journalists at the weekend, Ajao explained that the visit to the commands was in continuation of his assessment of the activities of the personnel during the COVID-19 Special Duty to ascertain if they live to expectations.
The statement stated that the Chairman LNSA was impressed with the commitment of the officers and urged them to maintain the standard.
According to the statement, the LNSA boss also met with the chairman of Odiolowo/Ojuwoye LCDA and lauded him for accommodating the LNSC personnel in the Council Secretariat.
During the tour which lasted between 17th and 22nd April 2020, Ajao implored the officers and other ranks to maintain the good job and shun any act of misconduct.
The statement reads, ” DIG Israel Ajao,rtd.OON, NPM,mni,Chairman Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Agency continued this operational visits to LNSC personnel on Covid-19 special duty on 17th and 22nd April 2020 when he paid surprise visit to his officers at Mushin LGA and Odiolowo/Ojuwoye LCDA on 17th April 2020 where he commended the Officers and other ranks for their hardwork,dedication and commitment to duty during this COVID-19 lockdown.
He met with the Chairman of Odiolowo/Ojuwoye LCDA to thank him for accommodating the LNSC personnel and assisting them to complement Police efforts to ensure protection of lives and property in the area.
He paid similar surprise visit to Kosofe LGA and Agboyi Ketu LCDA on 22nd April 2020 where he met the Corps officers in charge of Councils on duty just like Mushin and Odiolowo/Ojuwoye.
The Chairman LNSA was impressed with the commitment of the officers and urged them to maintain the standard”.
