The COVID-19 lockdown food items distribution to the poor and vulnerable has ended peacefully in Zaria Local Government Area.
Speaking at the end of the exercise, the Taskforce Chairman and Chairman Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Committee (SUBEB) expressed satisfaction on the smooth distribution to all 14 clusters.
According to him, the committee comprising of stakeholders, religious leaders and traditional rulers have done a very good job despite some few challenges they encountered during the sharing exercise.
The items each cluster received are as follows; 1,000 cartons of noodles, 85 bags of 50kg rice and 129 cartons of four gallons each of vegetable oil.
Other items include, 220 bags of garri of 5kg, beans, semovita and spaghetti.
He reminded the people that the food items were not meant not for everybody, but for the poor and the vulnerable in the society.
