Niger Further Relaxes Hours Of Curfew, Civil Servants Resume Work

Niger State Government has announced the scaling down of the twelve hours lockdown hitherto which was fixed from 10:00am to 12:00 midnight daily. It now starts at 2:00pm to 10:00pm daily.
A government’s statement from the Taskforce on the control of the Coronavirus in the state, confirmed that though the stay at home order has been significantly lifted, schools including all private and all public owned would remained closed. Ditto all tertiary institutions across the state.
Civil Servants in the state on grade level 1-12 who were earlier on directed to stay at home, are now asked to resume work as from Monday, 6th April, 2020. They are to work from 8:00am to 2:00pm daily.

The ban on intra and inter states movement by persons and vehicles across the state however remains according to the statement.
Similarly, all sealed gateways into the state remain closed. Movements by persons into the state, except those on essential services are still banned.
Markets which were ordered to be closed as the lockdown began, are now to be opened each day from 8:00am and closed at 2:00pm daily
The statement issued by the Taskforce, cautioned marketers to adhere strictly to all precautionary measures issued by the Ministry of Health.
All Local Government Areas that share common boarder with neighboring states have been asked to ensure effective monitoring of people and vehicles coming into their territories said the statement.
The statement was however silent on the ban on all congregational prayers and gathering by Muslims and Christians especially on Fridays and Sundays.
