The Medical Director Gambo Sawaba General Hospital, Kofar Gayan Zaria, Dr. Hussaina Adamu hás confirmed that the person suspected to be COVID-19 infected has tested negative.
Speaking to journalists on the case, Dr. Adamu said the suspected person, Iliyasu Mukhtar of Dorayi Village in Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State hás been discharged on Wednesday followiing a directive received from the Ministry of Health in Kaduna.
The suspected person was admitted in the hospital on Friday following suspicious symptoms exhibited when he was about to take his bath, he slumped before his family members rushed him to hospital for medication.
While in the hospital, his blood was taken for test but they continued giving him all the necessary medical care and adequate security was provided around Dan Raka Ward were he was isolated before the result came back negative.
She said the patient was treated for lower respiratory tract infection and there was a great improvement.
The hospital management directed him to report back in two weeks time to see his level of improvement.
Also commenting on the development, the member Kaduna State House of Assembly representing Zaria City Constituency Hon. Suleiman Dabo Wakili expressed gratitude to Allah for the result which is negative.
He advised people to obey professional advise on medical Issues and should not be politicizing serious matters.
When asked about his experience, the suspected person, Iliyasu Mukhtar said it waa not easy for someone to be isolated and thanked Almighty Allah for testing negative.
Iliyasu said he returned from Lagos on Thursday and was brought to hospital on Friday becouse he was sick right from Lagos.
A very close source said he rode a motorcycle for three days from Lagos to Zaria, a claim which he denied, claiming he boarded a truck.
