UBA Donates N28.5m To Jigawa Govt

UBA Bank Plc has announced a donation of five billion Naira in support towards the fight against the spread of the deadly CoronaVirus nationwide.

Presenting the cheque of the donation of N28.5m to jigawa State Government through the Commissioner of Health, Dr. Abba Zakari the Jigawa Branch Manager of UBA, Mal Maharaz Yusuf said the gesture was part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility to extend its support to both federal and state governments in their fight to control the spread of coronavirus in the country.

He gave the breakdown of the donations as N1b to Lagos State Government, Abuja, N500m, while the remaining parts of the N5b money was shared to other states in the federation based on ratio of N28.5m.

The Manager who handed over the Jigawa share of N28.5m to the state Commissioner of Health, Dr. Abba Zakari, further stated that the essence of the donation was to assist the state goveenment in purchasing relevant health facilities, and training of its personnel in the fight against COVID-19.

Receiving the donation on behalf of Governor Badaru the Jigawa Commissioner of Health, Dr. Abba Zakari commended the management of UBA over this remarkable gesture, assuring thar it will be judiciously spent for the purpose intended.

He called on other corporate bodies to emulate.
