UBA Donates N28.5m To Anambra State Govt To Help Stop Spread Of COVID-19 Pandemic

The United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has donated N28.5m to the Anambra State Government in support of the fight against spread of Coronavirus pandemic in the state.

Receiving the cheque on behalf of the state, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu commended the bank for the gesture.

He called for more support from well-meaning Anambra people and other organisations toward the ongoing fight against the spread of the pandemic in the state.

Chukwulobelu who serves as secretary of the Anambra State Action Committee on COVID-19 pandemic said that all COVID-19 donations should be routed through the office of the SSG for proper documentation.

The Regional Manager of the bank, Mr Casmir Molokwu presented the cheque on behalf of the Chairman of the bank, Mr Tony Elumelu.

The state is operating two accounts on the Coronavirus project. They include: Covid-19 Support fund, UBA Account No.1022752108 and Anambra State COVID-19 aid, Fidelity Account  No: 5030112159.

The state is yet to have any official record of COVID-19 in the state.
