CoronaVirus: Create Relief Fund To Help Curb Pandemic, Pastor Buru Appeals

The General Overseer, Christ Evangelical  and Life lntervention Fellowship Ministry, Sabon Tasha, Kaduna state,  Pastor Yohanna Buru, has called for the creation of an assistance and emergency situation relief fund where people can contribute, support and help  the government’s toward succeeding in the  fight against  the spread Coronavirus in the country.

Speaking through a telephone interview,  Pastor Buru while stressing the contributions earlier made by some wealthy individuals, top politicians, business men and corporate organizations toward the battled against the spread of Coronavirus epidemic in the country, states should make it clear for who ever wants to contribute to do so for the overall benefit of all.

Buru noted, “The creation of an emergency situation relief fund will surely help through their little donation and help the government’s fight against coronavirus spread in the country.

“Globally, thousands have been reported dead  and many have been infected with the disease while millions are suffering with the restriction of movement imposed all over the country.

“There is need to support state and federal governments with prayers and fasting with the aims of begging the almighty God to bring an end to this epidemic.”

He noted that in such a situation, there is need to have an emergency relief fund which every individual can support the government in cash or in kind toward combatting the global pandemic, adding that some individuals are richer than some state governments.

The cleric applauded the efforts of Dangote  Group of Companies, BUA Group of Companies, former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar and other wealthy individuals that have already donated some relief materials to the federal government.

Buru stressed that there was need for more Nigerian philanthropists to support state and federal governments toward combatting the virus that is fast spreading among the citizens of the country.

He appealed to citizens to be law-abding and respect social distancing in order to immensely avert getting infected. 

While calling on all members of the African Union (AU), countries to equally create a Corona-relief fund centre, in order to encourage every citizens to contribute their quota towards supporting their governments against the virus spreading.

He observed that for the war against CoronaVirus to be won, it must be a collective responsibility in order to halt the activities of the virus in the entire 36 states of the country.
