Zaria and environs totally complied to the Kaduna State Government lock down order on people to stay at home.
Also, there was no Mosque that was open for Juma’at prayers, since the government order to keep shut until further notice.
Speaking to our reporter, the Zonal Commander Kaduna State Vigilante Group, Bala Galadima said, they are working to enforce compliance of the state directives on movement restrictions.
The Zonal Commandant said the group has deployed four patrol trucks and over 500 personnel to enforce compliance to the state directives on movement restrictions.
He said Kadvis has deployed personnel at every mosque in Zaria metropolis to ensure compliance with the directives of the state government.
Galadima said there were insinuations that some people were insisting that they will pray Friday congregational prayers despite the temporary suspension.
“We ate yet to ascertain the place hence our decision to deploy our personnel at all Juma’at mosques in the metropolis.
“We also have intelligence that some people were insisting on celebrating marriage ceremonies today we are still trailing such people,’’ he said.
The Zonal commandant said the group has arrested a bride, groom and other guests at a marriage ceremony which has violated the state directives.
According to him, the arrests were effected at Tudun Wada in Zaria near Fanfon Gwaiba Area, and Layin Yan Izala and Nagoyi within zaria metropolis.
There was a total compliance of the directives within Zaria metropolis as security personnel were at strategic locations to apprehend anybody violating the directives.
Major streets in the city, Plazas and shops remained closed as people stay mostly in front of their houses.
It would be recalled that the Kaduna State Government yesterday announced additional measures to contain the novel Coronavirus ravaging the world.
Deputy Governor Hadiza Balarabe announced a total lockdown of the state, saying all residents are to be quarantined.
