Eight passengers are now receiving treatment at the Lagos State Emergency Hospital at the Toll gate following severe injuries sustained during an accident involving their vehicles and a truck.
The victims were rescued by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command, as the driver of the truck reportedly fled.
Accordng to report, the cops who were monitoring traffic and human activities at Berger inward Kara bridge were alerted by a good Samaritan to the scene of the accident which occurred around 11.48pm Tuesday.
As learnt, the two commercial buses in which the victims were traveling along with others, were hit by the truck marked GGE 886 XB.
” While a team stood by to assist the victims, another team of officers chased the truck inward Ogun State. Luckily, they caught up with the driver and was forced to stop in front of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry Camp, Ibafo, Ogun State on Lagos – Ibadan Expressway.
Just before the truck was brought to a halt, the truck boy, jumped out and escaped into the bush. The driver was arrested and brought back to the scene of the accident with his truck.
He was thereafter handed over to Isheri Divisional Police station for further investigation.
Meanwhile, 8 passengers who were critically injured in the accident were moved to Lagos State Emergency Hospital by LASEMA officials for treatment”, the RRS Command disclosed on its Facebook page.
