The Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, made the announcement Thursday 26th March 2020, at the start of plenary activities on the floor of the House.
Obasa disclosed that the recall of the lawmakers was sequel to a reconciliation meeting brokered by the National Leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and members of the Lagos Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) earlier in the week.
According to him, it was agreed at the meeting that the House should reinstate the suspended lawmakers.
It would be recalled that the parliamentarians were suspended on Monday, 9 March, 2020 over alleged misdemeanor and act capable of causing disaffection among members.
Consequently, new principal officers have been appointed to replace Hon. Muyiwa Jimoh and Hon. Rotimi Abiru, while they were appointed as committee chairman.
