A community leader in Kaduna, Alhaji Sharif Abubakar Usmaniya has appealed to traders at the Kasuwar Barci Market to exercise restraint as the government demolished the market to upgrade it.
Speaking to newsmen in Kaduna, the community leader described the exercise as well intentioned towards uplifting the standard of the market as well as commercial activities.
He said the need for patience cannot be overemphasized, as similar demolition exercise has also affected other markets like Sabon Gari market in Zaria, Kawo main market and Kasuwar Gwari market in Tudun Wada, Kaduna.
According to him, the Kaduna State market expansion program is expected to include provision of police post, fire brigade office and improved source of water in the affected markets.
Alhaji Sharif advised the Kasuwar Barci traders to live in peace and avoid unguarded utterances that could lead to break down of law and order.
