Zamfara State Governor, Dr Bello Mohammed Matawalle has donated N7.5 million for the development of a working document on Zamfara Kingdom.
The documentary is meant to showcase the increasing potentialities and opportunities that abound in the kingdom.
A statement by the Director General Media, Public Enlightenment and Communication, Alhaji Yusuf Idris Gusau, said the governor”s N7.5 million donation was was delivered by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Bala Bello Maru at the opening of a four day National Conference to expose and utilize the potentials of the Zamfara kingdom organized by the Faculty of Arts and Islamic Studies (FAIS) of the Usman Danfodio University (UDUS), Sokoto.
Matawalle promised to give all the necessary support to the conference towards the production of a quality document that will form the basis for a comprehensive history of Zamfara kingdom reflecting its past, present and future status and serve as reference point to students, politicians and academicians.
He noted that for the Zamfara kingdom to regain it past glories and eminently contribute its quota in nation building, a view of its past and present ways should be taken into consideration in order to determine a positive future for it.
Matawalle commended the organizers and charged them to come up with the best workable ways through which all challenges facing the kingdom can be addressed and resolved within the soonest possible time.
