Efforts by five youngsters of becoming rich by stealing female under wears for ritual has landed them in police net.
They were said to have began the criminal act since a year, stealing several pants from different houses in Ojo area of Lagos and its environs.
All the suspects, who reside in Ilufe, a location in Ojo Local Government Council area of the state were identified as Chukwajekwu Eziigbo, 15, Chidima Obietuake, 17, Chikwaka Chidima Jemfe, 17, Gold Enyinnaya, 23, and Akomas Amarachi, 26yrs old.
Our correspondent learnt that the confessional statement of one the suspects, Chukwajekwe Eziigbo by operatives attached to Ojo Police Station led to the arrest of others.
Nabbed on 10th January at about 8.00am by the detectives while acting on credible information, Chukwajekwe was said to have confessed that she used to steal the female under wears from clothesline for a fee.
Police public relations officer of the command, DSP Bala Elkana confirmed the report, disclosing that investigation has commenced in the matter.
Bala further disclosed that some stolen under wears were recovered from the suspects, adding that they will be charged to court after the completion of investigation.
His words, ” On 10/01/2020 at about 0800hrs, acting on information, operatives from Ojo Police Station arrested one Chukwajekwu Eziigbo ‘m’ 15yrs of Ilufe area Ojo for stealing female under wears from clothesline.
The suspect confessed that for one year now, he has been stealing female under wears from different houses in Ojo and environs.
That he usually hand over those stolen under wears to the following female suspects for a payment: Chidima Obietuake ‘f’ 17years old, Chikwaka Chidima Jemfe ‘ f’ 17years old, Gold Enyinnaya ‘f’ 23years old and Akomas Amarachi ‘f’ 26years old, all of Ilufe area, Ojo.
The suspects have been arrested and they confessed to the commission of the crime.
Detectives recovered some stolen female under wears from the suspects.
Investigation is ongoing, the suspects will be charged to Court”.
