Women Empowerment Programme In Kano State


The Executive Secretary, Isa  Wali Empowerment Initiative, Hajiya Amina Hanga has  said that they are making excellent  impact in order to bring more progress  to women gender  and enable the people living with disability  to earn their living like everybody in the society.

She disclosed this in an interactive session with our correspondent at the initiative’s secretariat, adding that the initiative which was founded by Hajiya Maryam Uwais in memory of her father, late Isa  Wali in the year 2009, has been working selflessly to assist women and disabled persons as seen since its  establishment at both rural and urban settlements.

Hajiya Amina Hanga stated that the main reason for the establishment of  the empowerment initiative is to address the injustice against women especially at present when female gender is facing all trends of embarrassment from many angles which must be addressed through various aspects of programmes.

Furthermore,  the executive secretary announced that Isa Wali empowerment initiative covers 10 local government areas in Kano State, where series of economic empowerment programmes,  promoting girl-child education where 151 girls were enrolled into various schools which is a good landmark achievement so far recorded by the initiative.

Hajiya Amina Hanga disclosed that the people living with disability are also being given special consideration and recognition among the citizens because the initiative is trying to show that everybody is the same despite their disability.

She called for continued supports from the well meaning citizens in order to expand the activities across Kano State.
