Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni has sworn in 20 Commissioners and 20 Special Advisers.
Speaking shortly after swearing-in, the newly appointed Commissioners and Special Advisers at Banquet hall Government House Damaturu, Governor Buni charged them to maintain the confidence reposed on them and keep close contact with the development partners, meet all counterpart funding obligations together with the development partners to achieve the peaceful and prosperous Yobe State.
Governor Buni stressed that, in everything they do, they will try to have the people by their side and keep them regularly informed of all government’s activities through the media and other information agencies, which they will turn round and reinvigorate and they will have feedback loop that ensures the people and government are regularly in touch.
He called on them to maintain open doors policy so that people can remain confident of the wisdom of their electoral choices, adding that with the implementation of these policies and programmes as he has noted, the new appointees have great roles to play.
” It is hope anchored on beliefs that with just a little more effort, transforming our state and making life more meaningful for our people is within our reach.
“It is within our reach to ensure that our children have the best possible opportunities for a good education, that our farmers have the support they need to make Yobe State the food basket of the nation.
“It is within our reach to turn our solid minerals potentials into actual prospects so that over time,we could replace poverty with prosperity and want with abundance.
“”I said, then that while we have made some progress in such areas, education, health care, and agriculture among others, we still have so much work to do.
“”I have said, before that our administration is anchored as continuity, consolidation and innovation.
“This means that we are not here just to maintain what we have achieved in the past. We are here to renew our promise and to expand opportunities for our people”
The newly sworn in Commissioners are Sidi Yakubu Karasuwa ministry of Environment, Abdu Usman Kukuwa Transport & Energy, Bukar Dauda Housing, Goni Bukar Lawan Youths and social development, Barka Shettima Commerce, Muhammad Lamin Land and Solid minerals, Dr. Muhammad Lawan Gana Health, Dr. Mairo Amshi Agriculture, Yerima Lawan Local government and chieftaincy affairs, Mala Musty Religious Affairs.
Others include Barr. Saleh Samanja Justice, Musa Mustapha Finance, Engr. Umar Duddaye Works, Barr. Hauwa M. Bukar Women affairs, Abdullahi Bego Information, Muhammad Gagiyo Budget, Dr. A. Garba Iliya Humanitarian and disaster management, Muhammad Sani Basic Primary Education, Professor Munkail Higher Education and Alkali Jajere Water Resources.
