Zamfara Emirs Condemn Move To Transfer Commissioner Of Police

Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Dr. Bello Mohammed (Matawalle)

The Zamfara State Council of chiefs have raised alarm over clandestine moves by some disgruntled politicians to ensure the transfer the state Commissioner of Police,  Usman Nagogo.

Briefing journalists at the end of the council’s meeting in Gusau the chairman of the Council and Emir of Anka, Alhaji Attahiru Muhammad Ahmad said as the custodians of the peoples culture and moral values, they condemn and reject in totality any move by some politicians to engineer the transfer Nagogo from Zamfara state as such will amount to sabotage on peace and security in the state.

“At this juncture, when the concerted effort to restore peace and security in the state is yielding positive results, it would be a draw back when such action is taken. People in the state are happy with the way the CP is handling security issues since his arrival, especially his commendable and professional approach in addressing arm banditry, cattle rustling and other crimes”, he said.

The traditional rulers called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu and other relevant authorities to ignore and reject the selfish call by any individual or group to remove Nagogo from Zamfara state.

” We in the Council cherish the combination of CP Nagogo and governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle, who are working in synergy  to rod Zamfara state of criminal activities and ensure peaceful vo- existence among its inhabitants “, he said.
