ABUTH Set To Computerize Hospital Activities – CMD

The Ahmadu Bello University Teaching (ABUTH), Hospital Shika, Zaria is working towards computerizing all the hospital activities.
Professor Ahmed Umdagas Hamidu Chief Medical Director of the hospital stated this during an interactive session with journalists in his office.
He said that when the computerization is completed, people coming to hospital don’t need to carry hospital cards or bring money in cash, instead, one can use option to made transactions by using ATM or cash transfers.
The Chief Medical Director also said, since his assumption in office he has tried to address so many issues that slow the hospital services which include payment of over 90 per cent of the money owned by staff from 2014 to date 
He said within this period, the cleanliness of the hospital has been improved, staff commitment to work has been changed and staff welfare is improved.
According to him,  very soon the hospital will receive a boost by having 64 City Slide Scan machine which is the first in the whole Kaduna State.
Speaking on the Accident and Emergency unit, he explained that it is receiving serious attention because all the air condition in the theatre room are functional facilities.
Prof. Umdagas also said, the hospital management is working towards having accommodation in the hospital for doctors on call duty.
He assured that the hospital will be transformed to be the best among teaching hospitals in the country.
” Funds is the major challenges we are having in the operational activities to promote the services we are rendering to humanity.
The Chief Medical Director used the opportunity to express appreciation to the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris for the passion and pleaded with President Muhammadu Buhari to allocate special intervention fund which is now about to become a reality as already contracts will be awarded very soon.
