The Senate as the upper chamber of the national Assembly has been urged not to turn Zamfara security issue into politics, to prevent security breach in the state.
This advise was given by a the former National Secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Alhaji Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi  on Friday in Gusau while reacting to the invitation letter of the Senate Committee of Police Affairs inviting the Zamfara State Police Commissioner, Usman Nagogo to appear before the Senate committee next Wednesday.
Shinkafi alleged that the invitation of the Zamfara Police Commissioner at this time when security has returned to the state due to the dialogue initiative of the Zamfara State Government being championed by Nagogo.
“This invitation by the Senate Committee for Police Affairs has political undertone because we have it on good record that former Governor Abdul’Aziz Yari Abubakar,, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko and minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi recently held a meting and the outcome is the invitation to the police commissioner”, he alleged.
The  APGA chieftain said anybody who support the redeployment of Nagogo by using the Senate to harassment or intimidation is an enemy of Zamfara state.
“Politicizing the issue of Zamfara State by present Senate will be very dangerous because if banditry returns,  it will not only consume Zamfara but neighboring Sokoto, Katsina, Kaduna, Niger and Kebbi states”, he said.
Shinkafi described Nagogo as God sent as he has been able to do what many of his predecessors were not able do in the the last eight years when banditry ravaged the state.
“Enough is enough. We will resist any attempts to move Nagogo out of Zamfara by some selfish politicians who after depleting the resources of the state now want to use insecurity in the state to discredit the present administration of Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle”, he said.
