Governor, Ahmadu Umar Fintiri of Adamawa State has sworn- in twenty three newly appointed Commissioners into the state Executive Council including the son of the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Alhaji Adamu Atiku Abubakar.
According to him, their appointments into the State Executive Council is for the sole purpose of contributing towards developing the state to greater heights.
The governor maintained that the appointment of the commissioner, was a painstaking process designed to constitute a State Executive Council with the combined capacity to deliver the primary objective of his administration which was hinged on providing good governance, transparency and accountability.
Fintiri added that their choice to serve as members of the Executive Council in the state was based on merit hence the need to work as a team to correct the past anomalies.
Responding on behalf of the new commissioners, Abdullahi Prambe, commissioner for rural and community development assured the Governor and the citizenry of their readiness to deliver the confidence repose in them.
He promised to key into the leadership style of the administration in order to bring development to the good people of Adamawa State. Assuring the governor that the commissioners will reach out to the people at the grassroots for them to tap the dividends of democracy.
New Nigerian reports that on commissionership list were; Muhammad Umar for Ministry for Local government Affairs, Dr.Ishaya John Dabari for Ministry of Finance and Budget, Mr Elijah Tumba for Ministry of Construction, Rehabilitation, Intervention and Humanitarian Services.
Others are Barrister Sunday Mathew for Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Professor Isah Abdullahi for Health and Human Services Ministry, Mr Hassan Kaigama for Ministry of Water Resources, Dr.Umar Garba Pella for Ministry of Information and Strategy among others.
