Shehu Idris College of Health Sciences and Technology Makarfi has introduced new courses in addition to the existing courses the College is running.
The Provost of the College, Dr. Suleiman Usman disclosed this in an interview with journalists in his office on his 100 days in office.
He said, the new courses are Advanced Diploma in Healthcare Management, Biomedical Engineering, Abridgement in Pharmaceutical Technology/Technician and Social Development.
Dr. Suleiman Usman also within the 100 days in office has developed a curriculum often new courses to be introduced next academic session for the Higher National Diploma in Health information Management, Medical Imagining.
He said the management has introduced modern devices for monitoring both staff and students performances during working hours.
The provost is making an effort to upgrade the College Clinic to a General Hospital for the host community to access for quality health care services.
Also, the provost is making efforts to introduce Postgraduate Diploma in Education by affiliating with Ahmadu Bello University Zaria to provide opportunity for the academic staff who are not education oriented to build their capacity in the area of pedagogy.
In his desire to provide a condusive learning and teaching atmostphere for both staff and students the provost is determined to create a well equipped and functional e-library in the College.
He also equipped the department of Medical Imaging and Diagnostic Technology with modern ultrasound scan X- ray machine to be used in enhancing students practical skills.
As the College falls in the hand of a Comrade he diversify the revenue generation for the smooth running of the College as well improved walfare package for the staff.
Being a Comrade, Dr Suleiman transformed the College Consultanancy Unit through Service
