The Olowa of Igbara-Oke, Oba Dr. Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede, Ogidi III, the Ilufemiloye of Igbara-Oke kingdom, has installed Chief Damilola Ewenla as the Oshorun of Igbara-Oke land.
The installation which took place at the monthly town meeting in his palace, the Monarch, also installed Mr. Sheun Ojo as the new Loriomo of Araromi I Community of Igbara-Oke.
Speaking at the occasion, Kabiyesi charged the new Chiefs to let the progress of the town remain paramount in their minds and in what ever they do at all times by cooperating with other Chiefs to curb crime wave in the town.
Earlier, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), in Ifedore Local government, CSP Oyedele James while expressing concern over the increase in crime rate in the ancient town of Igbara-Oke called for the collective cooperation of all and sundry.
The Police boss how ever disclosed the arrest of some Minors that were currently being used by criminals to penetrate into residents and shops before perpetrating their nefarious activities.
He said those arrested are already cooling their nerves in Juvenile Home in Akure, the Ondo state capital, adding that efforts shall be made to get those at large as soon as possible.
He therefore charged the people to be more security conscious by reporting movement of strange faces to the Security operatives for necessary action before wrecking their havoc on innocent citizens.
He how ever proffered solution to the way forward in curbing crime which he said, will involve the reviving of PCRC, a joint effort by the people and the Police in the Local government to promote Community Policing in all the nooks and crannies of Ifedore Council area to ensure the safety of lives and properties of the people.
He commended the efforts of Oba Adefarakanmi Agbede, the Olowa of Igbara-Oke, in the area of synagising with the Police in the council area since he assumed office few months a go within his domain and beyond.
