Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai of Kaduna State, has commiserated with Nariya Community in Igabi Local Government Area, where he interacted with the people over the incessant attacks by bandits.
The Governor, was accompanied by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan to commiserate with the residents.
According to him, he has been away for about ten days, confirming that he received cases on the current kidnappings between Nariya and Rigasa, describing the community as peaceful.
Speaking on, he stressed that, “I decided on my return to visit the community immediately. It is our duty as government and leaders to ensure that their lives are secured whenever there’s a failure we must take responsibility and take steps to secure any gaps.”
He admonished them, “With the regard to the main road into Nariya I have discussed with the chairman of Igabi Local Government, I have asked him to reach out with Kaduna South Local Government to bring out the cost estimates to bring out the road to highest capacity.”
Commenting on the road, he explained that, “It is a local government road, not a state road but if the requirements of building the road are beyond the capacity of the two local government areas, the state government will help to invest to ensure that the community has the best road just like the Rigasa road.
He described the community as peaceful. “This community is one of peace and it is a community’s that has consistently supported our government, but the least they can do is to ensure that the basic necessity of lives are available in this community.
“I am pleased that we have awarded a contract to construct a school here with 28 classrooms.
“I have heard the cries of the community about electricity we are going to look into that and find out why any part of the metropolis will lack no electricity supply and we will do whatever it takes to sustain the peace of this community.”
el-Rufai, urged the community to support the security agencies by promptly reporting any suspicious activities around.
The Governor assured the people that overnment and security agencies are deploying all means available to end the attacks.
