The Plateau State ALGON chairman and the Chairman of Mikang Local Government Area of Plateau State has called on the Federal Government to weigh into the looming crisis currently waiting to escalate in Wase LG of Plateau State over mining activities.
The call is important to avoid the type of agitations going on in Niger Delta part of Nigeria over oil exploration with no corresponding impact of the explorers ‘ social responsibility to the indigenous people who live in pathetic situations.
Hon. Ezekiel Vuelgap, the chairman of gave the advice in an interview with journalists during Southern Plateau Day at the ongoing trade fair held at the Polo field in Jos, the Plateau State capital.
“The Chinese involved in the mining activities on Wase care little or nothing at all for their host community. “
The chairman thanked the Rescue Governor, Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau State for the creation of enable environment which make the trade fair possible.
While the solid minerals found in the zone include, Tantalite, Kaolin, Sait, Marble just to mention but few.
It would be recalled that crisis happened in area between some stakeholders in mining and the federal government which resulted to the arrest of Chinese.
