New recruits of the Neighborhood Watch of Nigeria Rantyia  in Jos metropolis are currently receiving training to help fight the ever increasing wave of crime in the state.


The Commandant Neighborhood Watch Nigeria, Gagman Boppije expressed this at the opening ceremony of the five days training workshop organized for the newly recruited officers held at the Azi Yanko Youth Center in Jos, the Plateau State capital.


The commandant said that at moment, the neighborhood watch is voluntary service with the following objectives, to cooperate with officers of men of Nigerian Police and members of the communities in order to promote police community relations.


He said  mutual understanding and confidence in our security organs and bridge the gap of credibility and acceptance between the police and the communities,to support the Nigeria police, to police the immediate communities due to shortage of man power of Nigerian police.
