Gunmen Abduct, Kill Retired Police Officer In Delta



Gunmen suspected to be assassins have killed a retired police officer, Paul Edike on Friday evening on his way back from function at Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Council Area of Delta State.

A family member, Joseph Edike, revealed the horrifying incident to AUTHENTIC News Daily when he said that ”the driver of Paul Edike who witnessed the incident reported to the family shortly after the kidnap.

Some few hours later, the lifeless body of Paul Edike was found along Warri/Benin road.

Joseph Edike said,  “Our Dad was kidnapped on his way home on Friday evening, the driver came to tell us, later in the night, his lifeless body was found along Warri/Benin road.

“We suspect it as assassination in relation with the case our brother is having with some persons abroad.

“Since the case started threat messages and calls have been made to us but we never knew it will get to this level.”

The remains of the deceased has been deposited for further action and report to police.

The family member stressed that they were careful of involving piece because of the issues their brother has abroad.
When contacted for comments, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Adeyinka Adeleke in a telephone chat with Our Correspondent on Sunday afternoon said, “I am not aware of the matter since they didn’t report to the Police. How do I know that their brother was kidnapped and killed?”
