Bauchi Govt Partners BACCIMA To Revive Moribund Industries

The Bauchi State Government is to partner with the State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (BACCIMA) to revive all moribund industries in the state, Governor Bala Mohammed said at the ceremony marking the state 1st National trade and exhibition fair 2019 tagged Bauchi 2019 in Bauchi.The Governor who was represented by his Deputy Baba Tela said “I recall with nostalgia the effort of a lot of investments in the early 80s and 90s of the present industries in the state, and stressed the need for BACCIMA and business community in the state to revive the moribund industries in Bauchi“I recall the days of Pepsi, Styer vehicles assembly plant, the Bauchi Sweet factory, Meat factory and so many others, these are now moribund. The challenge is to ensure the revival of those industries and to the establishment of new ones,” he said  He noted that with such partnership, most of the moribund industries in the state would be brought back to the limelight, as well as improve the economic situation of the state, saying the objective of any  trade Fair was to showcase the industrial and commercial potentials of the participants groups to attract both local and foreign investment.He added that the fair will be an avenue for business community to rub-minds and map out a new course for sustainable growth to enhance commercial drive of the state in line with the global best  practice.The BACCIMA president Alhaji Habu Jajere reiterated the determination of the chamber to organize a befitting trade fair this year, and appreciated the Bauchi state government for giving them the opportunity to organize the first National Trade Fair in December 2019.Alhaji Habu Jajere assured that BACCIMA will partner with the government to improve the economy of the state.The Bauchi commissioner for Commerce, Industry,  Trade and Investment,  Alhaji Mohammed Sadiq has in a remark said that the state government would not relent efforts in reviving the moribund industries in the state
