In an effort to compete favourable with other Western world, the Nigeria’s foremost electronic payment solutions provider, ITEX has reiterated its commitment to bringing together relevant stakeholders in the agency banking space to reflect and discuss ways to ensure sustainable growth of agent banking in Nigeria.
At a press conference ahead of the summit, it was emphasized that the deliberations at the summit are intended to culminate into formulation of key recommendations for implementation by stakeholders.
The Chairman of ITEX Integrated Services, Dr. Frederick Igbinedion said the organization remains committed to playing a central role in achieving the CBN’s financial services delivery and inclusion initiative.
He added that the summit is part of the patterns of driving innovations at ITEX to deploy the most efficient and effective solutions to meet the general needs of the populace.
Speaking further, he said discussions at the summit will feature a keynote and lead speeches as well as discussion by a panel madeup of industry experts.
He also added that there will be an interactive session where delegates which will comprise of representatives of banks,payment service providers, regulators, agent network managers, merchants and agents and other stakeholders will be able to make contributions and share perspectives.
To address this issue at the summit, ITEX has lined up key players in the industry to share insights with delegates.
These includes Mrs Aisha Ahmad,Deputy Governor financial systems stability, Central bank of Nigeria,Mr Sam Okojere, Director Payment systems management, Central Bank of Nigeria, Mrs. Ronke Kuye, CEO SANEF, Mr. Wole Oyeniran, Technology strategist and transformation leader, Deloitte West Africa.
Also speaking at the press conference, the Managing director of ITEX integrated services, Ernest Uduje said that the summit will feature a POS Innovation Hackathon which is designed to recognize and reward innovation in the area of providing agency services on POS channels.
“A total of 12 qualified and verified entries were submitted, and these are being assessed by a panel of judges who will pick the best 3 ideas.
“These three ideas will be unveiled at the summit and rewarded with cash prizes.
“The best idea will be nurtured and adopted by ITEX in collaboration with the idea owner to advance its POS solutions portfolio,” he said.
