GOC Tasks Religious, Traditional Leaders On Peaceful Coexistence

 The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3rd Armoured Division Jos, Maj. Gen. Nuhu Angbazo has tasked both religious and traditional leaders to preach the gospel of peace to their follower’s in the interest of development .
The GOC made this known in Takum while addressing religious leaders, traditional leaders ,women and youth organizations on the need for peaceful coexistence in the area .
The GOC who spoke through Brigadier General Briggs Daniel said  that the Chief of Army Said, Lt. gen.Tukur Buratai has directed that operation Ayem-Akpatuma commenced in the area to fish out bad eggs in the area.
Angbazo solicited for support and cooperation from the community to enable security operatives restore peace in the area saying, its your duty to bring peace in the area.
The Maj. Gen. expressed sadness that most of the schools in the area had been closed because of the unrest ,saying children who are future leaders have been deprived of going to school because of crisis .
Also speaking,  the Brigade Commander, 23 Amourd Brigade Yola,   Brig. Gen. Sani Mohammed told the stakeholder that any one in possession of fire-arms should surrender it to the Nigerian police or face the wrath of the law.
He  tasked leaders at all levels to preach the gospel of peace, urged them to provide vital information  to security agencies.
In His address the Chairman Caretaker Committee of  Takum, Shiban Tikari emplore both Tiv and Jukun in the area to be peace loving people and to reestablish the spirit of appreciation and shun  passage of wrong information across the border.
Tikari expressed hope that the security challenges facing the area would soon be a thing of past .
The caretaker chairman who was worried over the absence of Tiv elders in the meeting said he has reached out to them and assured them that security would be provided to them .
The meeting featured goodwill massages from youth groups, women group,traditional leaders and Religious leaders who spoke on the need to broker peace
