Government Girls Science Technical College Dapchi was not officially closed by government but it as a decision by parents to take away their children.
This was disclosed to New Nigerian Newspapers by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Alhaji Modu Maaji Ajiri in his office at the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida Secretariat in Damaturu the state capital while commenting on the new development.
Speaking on the issue, Ajiri said, the closure of the Government Girls Science Technical College Dapchi was not official, adding that only government has power to close government institutions.
According to him, parents decided to withdraw their wards from the school and wrote to government that based on security reports they heard which informed their decision.
The permanent secretary said, government would study the letter received from the parents before any further actions.
He explained that, government would officially invite the parents, guardians and all stakeholders for a meeting to discuss on the issue to find lasting solution.
He further advised parents to always consult with government on such issues before taking any decision adding that all government schools are under custody of government, only government can take such decision not parents, individuals or organizations.
