In an effort to boost income generation and ensure food security, the chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Council in Lagos Hon. Muse Ariyoh has concluded plans to acquire several acres of land for cassava plantation.
The Council boss made the revelation at the maiden edition of an interactive session with the youth tagged " A DAY WITH THE MAYOR " held at the pa Olabintan Olabintan Registry at the council secretariat.
He said that the project is in partnership with both corporate and private stakeholders, aimed at boosting the financial capacity of the council and food security.
Accordng to him, the produce from this initiative will be for the benefits of Oshodi/Isolo residents at a subsidized price.
"This is in line with the agenda of IBMA's administration to ensure food security for the residents in Oshodi/Isolo", Ariyoh stressed.
Buttress the assertion, his Special Adviser on Agric, Youth & Sports Hon.Animashaun Saheed emphasized that plan is in top gear to ensure that some of the products are made available soon for display and purchase in markets.
The Special Adviser who also spoke on the sporting activities of the council, said the pre-season tournament organised to shortlist players to represent the Local Government through IBMA BABES in 2018/19 Lagos state J League is over, adding that the players that will be representing the local government during the J-League competition would be unveiled soon.
In his word " am happy to inform you that Oshodi-Isolo Local Government is ready for the 2018/19 J League in Lagos state and members of IBMA TEAM that would represent the local government would be unveil to members of the public."
