The distribution of free treated nets known as “long lasting treated net” is going on successfully in Kano State with large women turnout as reported by our correspondent who visited some treated nets distribution centers across Kano State.
Most of the distribution centers that were monitored by New Nigerian has been carefully selected to suit the beneficiaries especially at rural settlements, while the distribution officials were seen busy to ensure that every household gets the nets as planned by the Kano State Government.
At Sabaru distribution center, Muntsira ward in Bichi Local Government Area, the supervising officer, Malam Abdullahi Garba Sada said that the exercise commenced on 5th October, 2019, with beneficiaries target of 2,465 household to be given free long lasting treated nets amounting to the target population which is going hitch-free because the distribution was carefully planned to ensure that no household is left behind.
He added that 770 beneficiaries received their free treated nets at the commencent of the programme, where he assured that before the closing date, all the targeted beneficiaries would get their long lasting treated nets as scheduled by the Kano State Government.
He thanked the area’s traditional rulers for their support and cooperation, and commended the beneficiaries for showing sense of maturity while collecting their nets.
Similarly, our correspondent monitored the distribution of free treated nets at Jaulere in Shanono Local Government Area, Kiyawa in Bagwai Local Government Area, Dorowar Shehu in Dawakin Tofa Local Government and Gwammaja Masaka in Dala Local Government Area, where the distribution exercise was going on successfully.
