Former Governor of Plateau State, Senator Jonah David Jang has told the People Democratic Party (PDP), candidate for 2019 general elections, Sen Jeremiah Timbut Useni to go and appeal over what he called ‘miscarriage of Justice’ by the gubernatorial Tribunal in the state.
Jang expressed support to PDP Governorship Candidate in the last election Senator Jeremiah Timbut Useni on his legal effort to recover the mandate.
Media Consultant toSenator, Lt. Gen (Rtd) Jeremiah Timbut Useni, Yiljap Abraham says ,Sen Jang gave his support during a solidarity visit on Thursday evening at the Jos residence of Senator Useni.
Sen Jang said he was saddened by the judgement of the Plateau Governorship Election Petition Tribunal.
“However, I am optimistic that we have a good case at the appellate court. In fact, the city of Jos was rather in a mourning mood yesterday after the judgement which signifies the level of disappointment of Plateau people at the verdict.”
He encouraged Sen. Useni to remain strong-hearted, patient and to continue the struggle. “I assure of my unconditional support.”
In response, Sen Useni said the visit by Sen Jang is a morale-booster to him to continue to pursue the recovery of the seat.
“I really thank you for his show of statesmanship and camaraderie.”
Sen Useni received Sen Jang in company of his Running Mate, Dr. James Dalok and the State Party Chairman, Hon D.T. Sango
Meanwhile, senator representing plateau North- at the National Assembly, senator I D Gyang who equally visited the PDP candidate said the judgement was surprising to them. He said what was withbessed at the tribunal was undemocratic.
According to him, the opposition party in the state had resolved to support in fighting the mandate of the people of the state .
He explained that the PDP in the state will not relent in ensuring that the PDP in the state regain their mandate at the court or appeal
In his remarks, senator Useni thanked all those who are sympathetic over his recent failure at the tribunal.
He said that the visit was unexpected , saying that the judgement was going smoothly not until the judge decided otherwise.
‘ the judgement was surprising to many people who expected otherwise. We make every arrangements for the appeals court’
He called on his supporters in the state to steadfast in fighting their mandate which he said was giving to him by the. People of the state.
According to him, plateau state belongs to all citizenship irrespective of religious or political affiliation
