Jigawa To Start Paying N30,000 Minimum Wage October

Governor Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State has announced the state government’s determination towards the implementation of a new minimum wage of N30,000 to workers in the state, effective in this month of October.
Making the declaration on the occasion of this year’s Teacher’s Day at Malam Aminu Triangle in Dutse, he stated that a 19-member committee to that effect was put in place for negotiation with labor leaders on the payment of new minimum wage.
The committee headed by the state deputy governor as Chairman, and the state acting Head of Service, Alh Husseini Kila Secretary alongside other members will work hand in hand with the state labor leaders, among other stakeholders in working out modalities for the successful implementation of the new salary increase.
Other members of the committee are Permanent secretaries of Govt House, finance, Salary Directorate, among others.
Earlier in his speech, the state NUT Chairman, Comrade Abdullahi Mohammed commended Governor Badaru for improving teachers welfare, assuring we will reciprocates through increased productivity to service, punctuality, dedication to service, as well of good ambassadors of character at all times.
He charged teachers in jigawa state to be of exemplary characters, dedication to service, and punctual to duty for quality service delivery.
