Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State has reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to better the lots of citizens across the state through sound people -friendly policies, projects and programmes for the good of all.
Using the occasion of Nigeria’s 59th independence anniversary, governor Sani Bello in a message of felicitation to citizens across the state and country at large, noted optimistically that there were better days ahead.
He congratulated Nigerians on the occasion and reassured all citizens across the state that his administration was focused to work for the progress and development of the state and for the collective good of the people.
In the message of felicitation signed by Mary Noel Berje, governor Sani Bello’s spokesperson, he urged all Nigerian leaders to step up on good governance and delivery of dividends of democracy to the governed.
He stressed that only a purposeful and responsive leadership and show of patriotism by all citizens could the country be put back on the trajectory of Nigeria’s founding fathers.
He said the attainment of peace, progress and development in the country could only be ensured through responsive governance.
He reminded Nigerians to imbibe tolerance, love and oneness as we celebrate our nation’s independence from colonial rule.
Governor Sani Bello noted with concern the increasing security challenges across the country and said the development was a huge burden to governance but expressed optimism and confidence that the present administration in the country and in the state will surmount the problem.
Governor Sani Bello extended sympathy and condolence to the victims and families of those who lost their lives in the renewed armed banditry attacks at Kusherki and neighbouring communities in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger state.
He disclosed that the state government had fully mobilized security operatives to the troubled areas where bandits were holding sway even as he assured that all criminally minded elements in parts of the state would soon be rounded up.
Governor Sani Bello reechoed his call for all inclusive security synergy just as he tasked citizens to be security conscious, report any suspicious character or movements and resist any attempt by undesirable elements to cause disharmony in the state.
