The chairman of the central working committee on self-help associations in Kano State, Alhaji Ibrahim Garba Aminu Kofar Na’isa has assured that restoration the activities of self-help associations would make environmental sanitation more successful in the state.
He stated this in an interview with our correspondent in his office, adding that in the past, self-help associations played important roles in the area of environmental sanitation through co-ordinating various self-help activities at both urban and rural areas, that is why at that time, the menace of incessant over flooding was minor.
Alhaji Ibrahim Kofar Na’isa further stressed that Kano State Government under the leadership of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is making good impact in the area of environmental sanitation where a day was set aside every month to enable the citizens clean their environment tagged” monthly environmental sanitation” as popularly known to Kano people.
He therefore, urged the Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje to restore the activities of self-help associations across the state to support the government’s programme on environmental sanitation.
He assured that all registered self-help associations in Kano State are set to contribute for clean environment at both levels.
In conclusion, the central working committee chairman prayed that Kano State Government would provide all the necessary working materials to the self-help associations through the central working committee because according to him, ” we know genuine self-help associations across Kano State, we have their directories and if we are supported, we would work selflessly for better environment.”
